Good of the Order:

Robert Turek

Bob attended one of the local Memorial Day events and felt the speaker made a perfect example on what not to say at a memorial day event. The speaker brought up 3-4 negative things from the past, where as Trump would only talk about the good and moving forward. This speaker didn’t do that. “We had our issues here, etc.” 90% of the people listening to her were conservatives.

Bob then pondered aloud, that if we had unlimited funds, would we send someone to the Mackinac Leadership Conference? Bob offered to cover a hotel for anyone we send to this conference. He wonders why we as the Alcona GOP couldn’t cover one if not two tickets to this leadership conference.

Carrie moves that the Alcona GOP buy two Earlybird Tickets for Jess & Jeff Dobbs can attend the MIGOP Mackinac Leadership Conference, so they don’t lose the Earlybird discount, for $298. Bob Turek seconds this. Discussion: He wonders, if we had money to pay, would this be the thing to send our Chairman and Secretary to all the time? How important is this? It’s politics. Nelson spoke up to say that he is glad that Jeff & Jess were going to go anyhow, before this discussion was even brought up by anyone.

Roll Call Vote:

Judy: Yes

Nelson: Yes

Jess: Yes

Jeff: Yes

Carrie: Yes

Bob: Yes

Vote is unanimous, and motion passes.

Adjournment:

Motion to adjourn, called by Nelson, seconded by Jess at 8:35pm. Next open meeting to be held on June 23, 2025, at 7pm at the Alcona County EMS building on M72. (2600 E. M-72, Harrisville, MI 48740.)
