Opening:
The meeting was called to order by Jeffrey Dobbs at the Alcona EMS building on M72 at 7:07pm.

Business:
Chairman’s Welcome
Welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Motion to Conduct New Business First
Motion to move and conduct the New Business on the agenda before the rest of the Business made by Carrie and seconded by Judy. No discussion. Motion passes.
New Business:
Petition for Removal
Petition for the removal of William Sickner as the Alcona County GOP Vice Chair and voting member of the Executive Committee for egregious behavior was read aloud by Jessica Dobbs. You can see this petition attached to these minutes. This petition was received by the Secretary, Jessica Dobbs, on August 14, 2026 at 6:57pm. This petition was then emailed to the entire Executive Committee by the Chairman, Jeffrey Dobbs, to serve as the appropriate 10 day notice as required by our Bylaws in Article IX, Section 1.
Motion to formally remove William Sickner from the Executive Committee as Vice Chair, stripping his voting powers, but still acknowledging him as a duly elected Precinct Delegate and a Dues Paying Member of the Alcona County Republican Party, made by Carrie and seconded by Judy. No discussion. Roll call vote:

Motion passed unanimously.
Let it be known that Article IX, Section 2 of the Alcona County Republican bylaws has had all requirements met and that William Sickner is hereby removed from the Executive Board and is no longer the Vice Chair.
Business (Continued):
State Convention Results
There was a state convention held at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant on August 22nd. Please see the attachment to view the upcoming Republican ballot and some potential proposals that should appear on the November ballot.
Newspaper Advertisements
Because of the upcoming election, we would like to place some advertisements for our Republican slate in the Alcona County newspaper.
Motion to place a voter guide type advertisement in the local newspaper starting on September 23rd and going every week until October 28th , with the amount spent not exceeding $900, made by Carrie and seconded by Nelson.
Discussion: Perhaps make the 1st week and the last weeks’ advertisements the big ones and the rest of the time smaller, suggested by Nelson. Should we consider Facebook or Phone Texting ads?
Carrie amends her motion to include a budget for Facebook and Phone Text advertisements as purchased from the 1st Congressional District, with an additional budget of $300, bringing the total cap for all advertisements to $1200. Nelson seconds the amendment to the motion.

Treasurer’s Report:
ACRC (Working): $620.84 (savings), $2175.08 (checkings), with a $5 hold. Total of $2795.92 accessible in the working account.
ACR (Corporate): $220.05 checking, and $5 hold in share account. Accessible is the $220.05.

Let everyone know how upset he was that he was removed from his position on the Executive Board, but also stated that he was glad that the minutes had been updated on the website.
Carrie Mullins
Mentioned that she was mailed two communications for the Alcona Republicans. One was from the Alcona County Library about their upcoming exhibit for a community sculpture project. Please see the brochure attached to these minutes.
She also mentioned that there was something from Germany, to discuss what is going on in Europe, but especially in Germany. This is also attached to these minutes.
Finally she mentioned that she was happy to be voting for the Republicans on the upcoming November ballot.
